The itineraries of the Ligurian Riviera
The Cinque Terre
The Cinque Terre represent one of Liguria’s most iconic landscapes: seaside villages, scenic trails, terraced vineyards and a protected natural environment. The best way to visit them is by train. By leaving your car in the hotel parking lot and walking to the Riva Trigoso station, you can easily move from one village to the next, exploring the Park with greater freedom and returning in the evening to a quieter area. This solution is particularly popular with guests who wish to enjoy the Cinque Terre without dealing with traffic, parking or long waits.
The Portofino Area
Another area worthy of a thorough visit is the Portofino Regional Natural Park, a promontory encompassing some of the Ligurian Riviera’s most charming towns. A diverse array of locations coexist here: Portofino, with its famous bay and promenade leading to the lighthouse; elegant and lively Santa Margherita Ligure; the historic Abbey of San Fruttuoso, nestled between the sea and the mountains and accessible by sea or via scenic trails; and finally Camogli, a seaside town with a strong character and a long tradition of sailing. It is an ideal area for those who enjoy alternating nature walks, seaside excursions and historic villages.
Sestri Levante
Sestri Levante’s varied landscape offers numerous nature trails of remarkable beauty. The promontories of Sant’Anna, Punta Manara and Punta Baffe provide long walks immersed in nature, starting directly from our hotel.
Advice from our reception
An important part of the Hotel Del Borgo experience is the support of our reception staff, ensuring that reliable advice is always available. During your stay, we are happy to suggest daily itineraries, indicate the best times to explore, and recommend sea-view bars for an aperitivo, selected restaurants or local trattorias.
For guests who enjoy the sea more actively, we can also provide advice on sports activities and snorkelling, also possible at the nearby Riva Trigoso beach. Upon request, we are pleased to make lunch or dinner reservations at a selection of restaurants in Sestri Levante, carefully chosen for their quality and reliability.
Liguria is also a region to be discovered through food and wine. Among our guests’ most appreciated experiences are vineyard and winery visits, offering the opportunity to meet local producers and discover an authentic Liguria of vineyards overlooking the sea, local cheeses and artisanal products. We provide a selected list of wineries and producers and are happy to assist with organising visits and transportation.
During your stay, we also offer recommendations on where to sample traditional pesto, quality focaccia, freshly baked farinata or the famous rum-filled Camogliesi. We prefer to suggest authentic places frequented by locals, allowing our guests to discover the most genuine side of Ligurian cuisine.
